Title: Rome (Marked Men #3) Author: Jay Crownover Genre: New Adult Publication Date: January 7, 2014 Publisher: William Morrow an imprint of HarperCollins Publishing Event organized by: Literati Author Services, Inc.
Synopsis
Cora Lewis is a whole lot of fun, and she knows how to keep her tattooed bad boy friends in line. But all that flash and sass hide the fact that she’s never gotten over the way her first love broke her heart. Now she has a plan to make sure that never happens again: She’s only going to fall in love with someone perfect.
Rome Archer is as far from perfect as a man can be. He’s stubborn and rigid, he’s bossy and has come back from his final tour of duty fundamentally broken. Rome’s used to filling a role: big brother, doting son, super soldier; and now none of these fit anymore. Now he’s just a man trying to figure out what to do with the rest of his life while keeping the demons of war and loss at bay. He would have been glad to suffer it alone, until Cora comes sweeping into his life and becomes the only color on his bleak horizon.
Perfect isn’t in the cards for these two, but imperfect might just last forever . . .

REVIEW~ *****
REVIEW~ *****
O how the Marked Men Series just keeps getting better and
better. I don’t think I love a series quite like I do this one. This was a
marvelous and beautiful read that I am so glad I got to read. The story was raw
and refreshing. I loved everything about it. My heart was always in a million
pieces throughout the book, but it was always put back together.
Cora is such a great girl. I loved her character. She’s
strong, vibrant, spunky, and takes care of everyone she loves no matter what is
at risk. She has to be one of the boldest girls out there. I loved that no
matter what she accepted Rome the way he was. She wasn’t trying to change him
or make him the person he used to be. She took all of his baggage and still
loved him. My heart went out to Cora a lot in the story because of her past. It
kept her scared and she didn’t want to let anyone know her true feelings. We
can all relate to that. I was so glad that she still kept trying with Rome even
though things weren’t picture perfect.
Rome, wow, who knew I would love the other Archer brother
just as much as the other one. He is without a doubt one of the most incredible
men in the entire world of reading. I don’t think I have ever loved being
inside of a person’s head so much. He made me feel everything he did. It broke
me that he felt so guilty with the way things had turned out in his life. I
wanted nothing more than to hold him and tell him it would all be alright. Rome
Archer in two words would be rare and exceptional. He has one of the biggest
hearts and is one of the most caring and loving guys out of the Marked Men. You
will fall hard for him.
I loved getting to know Rome and Cora more. They are
definitely some of the strongest characters you will meet. I couldn’t help but adore both of them. I
loved watching their love grow for one another and how they helped one another
to heal and grow. I also enjoyed getting to have all the other Marked Men in
this book as well. Getting to know what was going on with the other characters
that I love so dearly, Rule, Jet, Rowdy, & Nash. Just make sure you have
some tissues available because it’s a tough road that the two travel together
to get their happiness. The series has a
special place in my heart and I can’t wait for the next book.
About the Author
I’m supposed to share interesting details about myself so that my readers get to know me so here we go in no particular order: I’m an natural redhead even though I haven’t seen my real hair color in years, I’m a big fan of tattoos and have a half sleeve on either arm and various other pieces all over the place, I’ve been in the bar industry since I was in college and it has always offered interesting insight into how men and women interact with each other, I have 3 dogs that are all crazy, I live in Colorado and love the snow, I love music and in all reality wish I could be a rock star not a writer or a bartender but I have zero talent so there is that.
I love to write, love to read and all I’m interested in is a good story with interesting characters that make the reader feel something.
I love this series it just keep getting hotter!!
