I knew the minute I started this book I would be so consumed
and there was no going back. Destroyed is by far one of the most amazing stories
I have read this year. Pepper Winters never ceases to amaze and astonish me
with her impeccable writing.
Destroyed had me drowning in the pages till the very end. I
couldn’t put it down. I have never read a book that had me so in tuned with it
like this one did. My emotions were on overdrive the whole entire book.
Zel is a remarkably strong woman. My heart went out to her
the whole book. She had such a horrible time in her past, but it never stopped
her determination to give her daughter, Clara what she deserved. Zel is one of
the best mothers ever that I have read in a book. She will capture your heart
as much as her daughter will. Clara is one beautiful little girl. She will have
your heart filled with so much love that it hurts. She brings two people
together who have such dark pasts and does it with just the adorable little
smile on her face and her big amazing heart.
Roan Averin! My goodness he’s the most remarkable man I have
read about this year. He had me hook line and sinker as soon as he came into
the story. I fell hard for him. He’s strong and struggles with a very dark past
that you will read about and it will have your heart going out to him. Wishing
he had had a better childhood. I held onto hope throughout the whole book that
he would see some light into his life and find a way out of the darkness and
once he did find some light it’s one of the sweetest changes you will ever see
happen in a man. All because of a beautiful child. Just note you will need a
box of tissues while reading. I bawled my eyes out for about half of this book,
my heart was shattered into a million pieces and was slowly put back together,
but there were still a few pieces that couldn’t be fixed because of what
happens.
Amazing job Pepper, your writing and stories just keep
getting better and better. I absolutely loved Destroyed and I’m looking forward
to more of Roan Averin aka Fox, if there is going to be more ;)

1. Daughter of Smoke and Bone by Laini Taylor: I LOVE this woman’s writing style and fell in love with her lyrical prose as well as Akiva.
2. Captive in the Dark by CJ Roberts: I love the darkness of this and how tortured Caleb was.
3. Fifty Shades of Grey by E L James: Purely because she brought erotica to mainstream and allowed so many other writers to build on their careers.
4. Harry Potter Series by J K Rowlings: I look up to this woman as she has turned being a writer into a HUGE franchise. She’s amazing.
5. Cross-stitch by Diana Gabaldon: I LOVE the richness of history and how sexy Jamie is.
