Elsker: The Elsker Saga, Book I by S.T. Bende ~Blog Stop/Review & Giveaway~ ****

~~SYNOPSIS~~~

You don't win the heart of an immortal assassin without making a few enemies along the way. Kristia Tostenson prefers Earl Grey to Grey Goose and book clubs to nightclubs, but when she transfers from her one-stoplight town to Cardiff University in Wales she falls in love with Ull Myhr. Her new boyfriend isn't exactly what she was expecting. He's an honest to goodness Norse God - an immortal assassin fated to die at Ragnarok, the battle destined to destroy Asgard and Earth. Kristia's crazy visions are the only thing that can save their realms.

Her orderly life just got very messy.

          ~~~~REVIEW~~~~
Let me say that I instantly fell in love with Ull Myhr, he is an amazing character. His heart is as broad as his shoulders, sigh. That being said I really enjoyed this book. It was so fascinating, compelling and such an amazing love story. I was immediately drawn into the story and had to keep reading to know what was going to happen next. It was so full of knowledge about Gods, their worlds, and the destiny of Ull and Kristia was so touching. Their pull to one another was fated.
Kristia is such a wonderful girl. She’s so strong and beautiful and I hated that she was never given the love she deserved from those she grew up with, except for her grandmother. I was so happy when she met Ull. Let me say though their first encounter is crazy and just unsettling because Ull’s reaction to Kristia was kind of weird. You’ll know what I am talking about when you read it. I relished in Kristia’s journey through the book. She came to love herself, accept her gift, and find the one man who was meant to love her unconditionally.
Ull, well what can I say but that I couldn’t get enough of his sweetness. He was always so charming, reserved and wanted nothing but the best for Kristia. He was always thinking of her best interests before his own. When I found out who he was I was dumbfounded and the more I read the more things began to make sense and I was happy that even though it was impossible Ull and Kristia didn’t once let their differences keep them apart. I absolutely adored his friends as well, Gunnar and Inga. They are true friends to him and accepted Kristia as part of their family instantly.
You will love getting to watch Ull and Kristia’s love grow for each other. There is also a lot of adventure in store for them I’m sure. You will love getting to learn about where Ull is from and what his future has in store for him. There’s also some interesting info in the book about the Gods and Norse Mythology that I found so intriguing. So if you want to read a beautiful story about a love that seemed impossible this is the book for you. I give it Four Amazing Stars.
~~~~Synopsis~~~~

Inga Andersson is the envy of every girl in Asgard. On the surface she has it all -- great friends, a job as Odin’s personal fight choreographer, and a happy ever after with her realm’s hottest assassin. But when evil invades Asgard, her perfect world comes crashing down. Someone is planning to kill off the gods, and Inga’s best friend Ull is first on their list. With the Norse apocalypse a nanosecond away, Inga has to decide how she’ll spend her final moments of freedom. Because from the moment this battle begins, Inga’s happily ever after will be nothing more than a memory.

Some things are worth fighting for.

Before finding domestic bliss in suburbia, ST Bende lived in Manhattan Beach (became overly fond of Peet’s Coffee) and Europe… where she became overly fond of the musical Cats. Her love of Scandinavian culture and a very patient Norwegian teacher inspired the ELSKER series. She hopes her characters make you smile and that one day pastries will be considered a health food.

  1. Thank you so much Verna! You've been so incredibly sweet to Ull & Gunnar. They're going to have to come over and bake you waffles. :) Word of mouth is huge for indies, and I'm truly grateful.
