Blog Tour Stop~Character Interview~ Non Friction by Morgan Parker

After 12 years, 4 months and 1 and 1/2 weeks of marriage, his wife packs up and leaves with their daughter. So he writes an Indie novel. And it becomes a bestseller. Well, sort of.

His fame brings him the lifestyle of a rockstar, and he has the fan mail (i.e. female undergarments, probably clean) to prove it.

But seeing his fame, his wife suddenly believes in marriage counseling. Their homework: to create something beautiful for each other.

So he writes Our Story, his literary secret-weapon that will win his wife back. But in the process he discovers that true love is more than just ticking the right boxes on a checklist, it starts with.....well.....}i{

~Character Interivew~

Heyy Morgan! I am so excited to have you here with me today! I don't know if you know this, but
I absolutely Loved your story and you of course ;) So to start things off I have to ask how is Morgan Barker?
What's new with You?

(Morgan Barker) It has been pretty busy and I've been having a difficult time focusing lately, even though my divorce has been finalized and Jennifer and I get along better now than ever before. It's probably because it's creeping up on tax season and with the types of numbers and accounting practices that we get involved with in the tech industry, it can get, well, messy.

So I still can't get over that you got panties in the mail, have you received any more fan mail?
What's the crazies thing a fan has sent you?

No, that was pretty much the craziest thing I've ever received and if I had to choose a career based on the kind of fan mail I get, I'd definitely stick to writing. However, as an accountant, I DO get fan mail (I previously answered this question inaccurately). Just this morning, I received an interesting parcel in the mail. It was ribbon for my 10-key calculator, and it came from Staples.

This question I'm sure lingers at the back of your mind everyday. Do you think you'll ever hit
publish on Our Story? And let me add I love Our Story. It was one of the most beautiful stories I've
ever read. What little bit I have of the story anyways.

Nah, I'll never publish Our Story. Although it was originally written as a tactic to win my wife back, once Emma allowed me to understand the true meaning of the word "Love," the story became about her. We had discussions about this so often that even those two words ("our" and "story") make me think about her. So unless she has something planned, Our Story will remain an unpublished masterpiece.
I have to tell you I loved your daughter, Evelyn. How is she doing these days?
Evelyn is getting big. Almost big enough to help with the dishes, which would be a good thing even though I only get to spend every other day with her (I'd have no problem letting the dishes pile up so she could load the dishwasher for me). The other day when she came home with her report card, I asked about the "B" she earned in Phys Ed. She said it stood for Beautiful because like to stand on the sidelines while all the "A for asshole" students play the games. She won that argument.

What is one of the fondest memories you have of Evelyn?

I have plenty.Of course, any time Evelyn allows me a glimpse into just how big her heart is, I absolutely melt. We were at Wal-Mart a couple of weekends ago and an infant puked all over itself. Evelyn gave the father the evil eye and once we were out of earshot asked me if I remembered the time she puked at Wal-Mart. Of course, I will never forget that incident, so I said yes, I remembered. She asked me if I thought the infant's father was driving the cart like a maniac, just like I had that day, then added that it could be construed as a form of child abuse if he were. I just chuckled and assured her it was okay, but later on before we hit the check-out counters, we saw the young father doing exactly that - running through the store with this young infant bouncing around.

So Barker, I have a bit of a surprise for you today. Before I tell you what that is. I have to ask you,
Do you miss Emma?

Let me answer that question with a question of my own. Have you ever seen the movie UP! You know how the old man's wife dies in the first five minutes and you think about her throughout the rest of the movie because he's making their dreams come true? I hope that answers your question.

Now for my surprise and please don't hyperventilate on me. *Knock Knock*

Who's there?
Come on in.
Come on in who?

Emma, so good to see you take a seat.

Morgan, Now that Emma is setting here with you what would you like to say to her? Why? That's I want to know, Emma. Why did you stop looking for me?
Anything you wish you would've done differently where Emma is concerned?
(Shrugging). I guess I'd have fought harder to keep you interested, to let you know that I love you and nothing you said or did could ever lessen that. But I never wanted you to give up....

Emma, how are you doing? What's new in the life of Emma?
My life has been happy. It took some time to get over my infatuation with Morgan, but after a few months that whole area of my life felt foreign and more like a dream than anything else. As for what's new, I've just got a new car because something Morgan here taught me is that the old one reminded me of him. So without getting into that Audi, I'd still be driving my subcompact and reminiscing about the time we spent in New York City together.

Emma, Morgan this question is for both of you. When did you know that you were in love with
each other?

Emma: (laughs). Morgan convinced me that love isn't real.
Morgan: Amen.
Emma, a lot of readers didn't understand why you couldn't just be with Barker. I'm sure you're aware you have some Emma haters out there, although I'm not one of them :) What would you say to them?

A couple of things. First off, my biggest mistake was cheating on my husband by sleeping with Morgan. Despite what I thought I felt, there is nothing romantic about sleeping with another man when you've made a commitment to someone else. Whether I love Walter or not, I owe it to him to be the best wife I can. I don't believe in flaky breakups - this isn't high school. Having gone through divorce once already, I realize that the process is pretty easy to end a marriage and if we don't fight for our relationships, what message are we sending our children?

Secondly, Morgan deserves something better than I could ever give him. I'm happy now with my life and I hope he can find happiness in his own as well. (Turning to Morgan): I will always love you, Morgan. But that doesn't mean we have to be together or have a relationship. I'm sorry.

Emma, What was the one thing about Morgan that drew you to him, made you decide you
couldn't go without reaching out to this wonderful man?

Morgan has a magical way with words. Sextual Encounters drew me in from that first text and I envision just how much fun it would be to know this man. And then of course Our Story was the most beautiful story I have ever heard. I think Morgan's words are his weapons. He knows this, and that's how he gets people to do what he wants them to.

Morgan, What is your favorite thing about Emma?

Her scars. Whether that's the emotional turmoil she has been through or something more physical, I think those are the pieces that really reinforce her true beauty. Emma, when I think of perfect, I think of you.

Morgan, Emma, Hope I have loved talking to you today! I'm definitely a fan girl who got her
fix today. Is there anything any of you would like to say to your readers before you go?

Morgan: Yeah, Emma's full of crap. We'll be together again someday.
Emma: Unlikely.
Morgan: Maybe we'll be together just long enough to write Our Story collaboratively.
Emma: Not a chance.
Morgan: There's always a chance.
Emma: Hell has a better chance at freezing.
Morgan: That's still a chance.

*Just note this little rant had me grinning from ear to ear! I am always going to hope for a Happily Ever After for Emma and Morgan*
