In the final hours of her life, Elliot Fitch’s wife confesses that he is not the biological father to their 16-year old daughter.
Surviving Goodbye follows Elliot’s collision course with Fate as he embarks on a journey to locate his daughter’s real father. When Elena, now seventeen years old, announces her unplanned pregnancy and the father’s unwillingness to play a role in their child’s upbringing, Elliot faces an ironic dilemma about the true meaning of parenthood and the roles we play in the lives of others, particularly those we love and who love us in return.

Surviving Goodbye by Morgan Parker is an emotionally, yet
beautiful story that you will fall in love with. As soon as I started this
brilliant story I was heartbroken and in tears. The beginning of the book will
pull at every heart string you have, it’s so lush.
Elliot Fitch is a character that you will FOREVER love. I
know I do. Elliot will steal your heart without you even realizing it. His
character is beyond amazing. He’s an awesome dad, loving husband, and cares
about those who are in his life. This man loves deep and I mean as deep as the
ocean. That kind of love is remarkable and a one of a kind, just like Elliot.
Every single woman you meet in this book is brilliant. Each
character is so unique. The women are strong and vibrant. I loved that all the
characters were so different yet shared one common trait, their will to keep
going and prove to Elliot just how precious he was to each of them. These
ladies were remarkable and I know you’ll enjoy meeting each one of them as much
as I did.
Surviving Goodbye is definitely a one of a kind book. It’s
so well written, has brilliant characters, it’s beautiful, sad, suspenseful,
and leaves you shocked at every turn. But in the end you find yourself filled
with lots of love and hope for Elliot. This is a must read.
I give Surviving Goodbye 4 out of 5 stars.
