Sigh~I have so enjoyed reading Collide by Gail Mchugh again.
It was just as amazing and alluring as the first time I read it. I was
entranced and it helped remind me why I started my blog. All because of how
much I love reading and getting to experience a book for the first time. Even
though this was the second time I read it it still had the same effect. I was
left reeling and wanting more of Gavin and Emily, mostly Gavin. I am absolutely
in love with him even more now after experiencing him again.
Emily is an amazing young woman. I adored her so much in
this book, well except for how things end, but I’ll get to that in a minute. I
couldn’t help but have my heart go out to her because of the things that she
had to deal with and go through. I couldn’t even imagine dealing with the loss
of a parent, but she does and tries so hard to keep moving forward even though
it still lingers with her every day. I absolutely adore her best friend Olivia.
I love how she is always looking out for Emily’s best interest no matter what
and she speaks it like she sees it. We all need a friend like Olivia, she’s
just remarkable. Then you have Emily’s boyfriend, Dillon. Let me say I could
tell the man was a snake from the very beginning. He seems all sweet, but you
will soon discover that he just isn’t and I hated that for Emily. I just really
wish she had opened her eyes sooner rather than later and done things
differently. I understood she felt she owed Dillon so much, but I really wanted
to scream at her to wake up and see what he was doing.
Gavin, Gavin, Oo Gavin Blake! You ladies need to read this
book for this man right here alone. He is one of the most amazing, charming,
loving, and miraculous men you are ever going to read about. He swept me off my
feet just as much as he did Emily. He’s one of those book boyfriends you wish
you could make real with how remarkable he is. I was instantly in love with
Gavin and rooting for his happily ever after through the whole book. He is so
strong and vibrant; he just oozes sexiness and demands your attention. I adored
his characters completely. He was such an amazing friend and he never gave up
on the connection and love he felt for Emily which was just beautiful all in itself.
I think I could write a book on how much I love him if I tried.
Gavin and Emily’s relationship is well indeed complicated,
but man is it worth discovering. They have this connection between them that
everyone wants to experience at least once in their lifetime. It’s strong,
captivating, compelling and one of the fieriest relationships that you will
ever read about. I highly and I mean highly recommend you read this book and be
ready for tears and feeling a little crazy because by the end of the book I was
screaming no and completely torn apart. I might have even wanted to throw my
kindle, but it’s so worth reading just to experience all of the intense
emotions that it makes you feel. A definite must read and so worth your while.
