Safe At Last by Maya Banks is an emotional journey that
every reader should add to their book journeys. I absolutely loved this book
even though it broke my heart more than once. The love that Zack and Anna have
is a once in a lifetime kind of love and it absolutely tore me to shreds when
that love was lost for so many years. You must read this book if you are a
romantic and love a book that takes you to that point of no turning back. There
are so many twists and turns and so much turmoil that the characters endure to
find out the truth and
understand what each of them went through.
Anna is such a sweet and wonderful young lady. I loved
watching her grow in this story. She went through a horrific event and even
though it broke her she found a way to cope with life and then when Zack comes
back into her life she finds herself fighting to keep it together and fighting
to make her life better. Not to lose what little she has kept together. My
heart broke for her through the whole book and I couldn’t help but hope Zack
got through to her.
Zack is a REMARKABLE man. My heart was so sad for him when
he finds out what really happened to Anna. That his search was finally over,
but he would never be the same again after what he finds out. You will find
yourself in LOVE with him and rooting for him to finally get through to Anna. I
loved that their chemistry and Love for one another overcame everything in the
story. But don’t get excited yet. By the end of the book you will be on the
edge of your seat with the turn of events. This book has everything a book nerd
like me needs. It has romance, love, and even a touch of suspense that leaves
you scared and hoping that Zack and Anna can find each other and make it out
alive.
