~REVIEW~ *****

Fearing Regret was just as remarkable as I thought it would be. I was so excited for this second book to this series and Barbara didn’t let me down. My emotions were all over the place while reading this book. You will find yourself sad, happy, and rooting for Kate to find that one guy who makes her feel EVERYTHING. As soon as I started reading I couldn’t put it down. It was so interesting and pulls you in from the very start.
Kate is such a wonderful character. She’s vibrant, strong, and absolutely wonderful. I loved watching her grow throughout the book. She goes from being so scared and afraid of her ex and then finally she has this overwhelming sense of I’m better than this take her over and she shows him whose boss. I was so happy she finally stood up for herself. I also enjoyed watching her finally see that she deserves to be loved and that that guy is out there for her.

I have read a few books that I was so conflicted about who I wanted the girl to end up with and this was one of those books. I absolutely loved and adored Ryan because he was always looking out for Kate and protecting her. You just knew he loved her completely and would never let her down. Then you meet Tony and lord he is remarkable. I found myself just as torn between the two men in Kate’s life as she was. So prepare yourself for one emotional journey that will leave you feeling a hundred different things all at once.

AUTHOR BIO:

I have a mad passion for books. It could be considered an addiction by some.
After the responsibilities of work, being a mother and a wife are  fulfilled each day, I escape in a book.
I never really thought of myself as a writer before. My true passion was as a reader.
One day an idea came to me and I could not stop after that first thought.
I hope you all will enjoy what I can bring you. I have plenty more ideas to go from here.

Interview with R.M. Alexander

1. What inspired you to write your first book?
A dream. Not an exciting story, I’m afraid. Most of my stories are from an overactive dreamlife, or occasionally, inspired by a song.
2. Is there a message in your books that you want your readers to grasp?

I never think about a message when I’m writing, but I’ve been told by readers that they’ve seen them in the books, and then I go back and read it and kind of see what they’re talking about. Honestly, though, I just write to tell the story.
3. How did you decide on the titles of your books?
Brainstorming sessions, inspiration from quotes or other places. Like with Matter of Choice: I did a search on some quotes for encouragement and not giving up. There was one that struck me, how life isn’t a matter of luck or chance, but more about the choices you make. I played with the words a little bit and came up with Matter of Choice.
4. If you had to choose, which writer would you consider a mentor?

Hmm, just one? *sigh*  I don’t think I can! LOL! Like I said in the last question, I’ve learned from every author I’ve read.

5. Is there anything you find particularly challenging in your writing?

The initial 1st draft. It’s the most creative one, and that’s fun, but it’s also the one that makes you bleed as you’re writing. It’s the one that makes you fight through writer’s block and changes directions without a second’s notice. It’s the most challenging part of the writing process, and that’s both good and bad.
6. Can you tell us a bit about yourself and your work? We would all love to hear about you.

I’m afraid I’m a little boring. I’m a stay at home wife and mom to two little girls. I have emoticonitis, I love typing emoticons when I’m texting or messaging people. I love tigers and Disney. I’m addicted to crab legs and chocolate, and orange juice. I drink a gallon of it a week, at least. As for what I write, I just love romance – the kind that makes your knees weak and your heart melt. I love it, so I write about it.

7.If you could pick one of your characters to have a lunch date with, who would it be and where would you go/what would you discuss?

Leonardo from my upcoming novel, Veil of Secrecy. He is so captivating, and I’d love to hear him talk, just talk. He has such a realistic, and positive view of the world, despite everything he knows. *laughing* I guess I’m being vague, but I think everyone will understand when they read the book.

8.Do you have any advice for other writers out there? Maybe something you wish you had known before you wrote your first book?

Don’t give up. It’s easy to throw in the towel, especially when you’re getting rejected. Don’t. Keep reading and keep writing, keep learning.
9. Who have been your biggest cheerleaders during your writing process? Who are the ones you have to share your news with, about your books, immediately?

My biggest cheerleader is TJ Loveless. She and I became crit partners back four years ago, and now we’re editing and business partners, and friends. Although, I’m afraid I go to her more than she comes to me *hanging my head* *laughing*. Although we are very different in what we write, and just about everything else, we work extraordinarily well together, and I couldn’t have gotten this far without her.

I also have amazing family and friends who cheer me on, a wonderful husband, and a great group of ladies on my street team who love the books. My PA Stephy is also amazing. I’m very blessed.

Melissa started reading in high school when she found her mom's romance book collection and has been hooked on books every since. She became a complete book-a-holic, starting her own collection and improving her reading skills. Most of the time she could finish a book walking around the store, while her mom shopped.

She wrote her first short story in high school for a competition in her writing class. It was a child's book called 'Arnold' - it was about an ant who believed he could do anything. Oh by the way, she won!

She has written many stories since then, but this will be her first YA paranormal/fantasy and the first book she will have published.

She lived in Mesa, Arizona with her husband of six years, and her 3 beautiful daughters. They are her biggest fans and they inspire her everyday. She enjoys spending time with her family, weekend dates with her mom & taking vacations. Hawaii anyone??

Excerpt
Someone pressed himself against Michaela’s back, his hands twining around her stomach. She felt his lips on her neck, his breath in her ear. He said something, but Michaela couldn’t hear. Clark cocked an eyebrow at her and moved away slightly to dance with a petite girl in a fox costume. Michaela twisted in the man’s arms so that they were face to face. He was tall and lanky and definitely human. The pupils of his eyes were huge, dilated far beyond normal, and Michaela smelled the musky hint of drugs seeping from his mouth. His hands roamed over her body, groping her ass. There was no room to get away; the bodies in the middle of the floor were pressed so close together. For a moment, panic flooded through Michaela’s veins. Sure she could knock this guy out with one hit, but she didn’t want to bring attention to herself. She looked around, realizing that everyone was experiencing the same sort of free will she was. She had no clue how the human girls dealt with this sort of invasion. In her distraction, she didn’t realize the man in front of her was about to kiss her until the second before his lips smashed into hers. Immediately, his tongue pressed into her mouth, forcing her lips to part. His tangy salvia pooled at the back of her throat and gagged her. His hand slid up her side to fist around her breast. In that appalling moment, Michaela realized two things. The first being that Gabriel, who was very new to the whole sex thing, was very, very good at the sex thing. And the second being…Gabriel. He stood in all his tall, dark glory behind the man sucking on Michaela’s tongue. Lifting his hand as if he was going to tap on the man’s shoulder and ask to cut in, Gabriel pressed a finger onto on the man’s shoulder, making him instantly sag to the floor. Gabriel pressed harder into the pressure point on the guy’s neck until he was nearly on the floor and completely disengaged from Michaela. It was quiet and efficient. Gabriel righted the man and set him aside before he made too much of a scene. In the mass of pulsing bodies and underneath the flashing storm of rainbow lights, it was unnoticeable. The man moved away, slightly stunned and confused, but without a backwards glance. Michaela shrugged sheepishly at Gabriel’s blank stare. Only because she was looking at his mouth was she able to read his lips as he spoke. “Don’t kiss anyone else.”
